yes thats what i said.if you dont believe me call the number yourself.i made the mistake of saying that the fbi was in charge of this case now and that opds leads had dried up,and was quickly put in my place,of course it was 12:30 in the morning and i probably woke the guy up,sure sounded like it.when i mentioned the forum,he had no idea what i was talking about,so its very doubtful that they are monitoring, but you never know.guess if they wait long enough we will probably fade away,i dont think so.he wanted me to e-mail him,you know what that means.deleted, not credible.seems to me they dont want anybody rocking the boat, but you know its always the loudest wheel that gets the grease.its time to get the answers that are needed in this case to bring jennifer home.he didnt even know their number was on the website.one small thing could bust this case wide open and we would all know the truth.

Interesting, mpea. But just because they say they are leading the investigation does not mean the FBI is not working on it. I am sure OPD is feeling a bit defensive..they would of course like to solve this, but they made so many mistakes early, and they were committed to the wrong kind of investigation (opportunity rapist or serial abductor) for so long that they cannot give Jennifer's case fresh eyes.
My experience with investigators is that they do not want John Q Public sticking their noses into their business, they can get down right hateful (as my locals did when I stirred up too many questions about the drug connections and selective interrogations in the Melanie Metheny disappearance.) They will never give you the satisfaction admit to reading your scenarios and lines of thought, even if they have.
So I would not put too much stock in your late night exchange. Good to let them know that we have our eyes open, though.

It seems the case is in the hands of the FBI now:
We asked the Orlando Police Department if the pictures were taken by investigators and released to one news outlet. We were told in a written statement, "You will need to contact the FBI related to anything in the case. The FBI is now the investigative entity as it relates to the case. The case is an active case with the FBI."

Groan, we got so close to a good answer. From the foxnews piece:
"Her parents say the DVD was given to her by her boyfriend, but they don't know why it is strapped in the back seat."
On the one hand I think, ah, okay it was given to her by Rob. End of story. He gave it to her the day before as she was driving back up to Orlando.
On the other hand, by saying the parents don't know why it's in the backseat, it implies Rob gave it to her, but a while ago, and so why would it be in the back seat on Jan 26, as if it was leaving Jen's condo, not going to it. Like in a burglary.
So close to solving this mystery. Bill, I'm dying here. Could you possibly ask Drew for clarification on his statement. When did Rob give the DVD player to Jen?
We are all trying to help here. (Well except for ......) Maybe Drew can continue to open up now that OPD is no longer on the case.
BTW, what an odd response from OPD:
"You will need to contact the FBI related to anything in the case."
How would the FBI know if OPD or a news agency took the photos 4 years ago? Couldn't the OPD more easily answer that question? Sounds like the OPD is trying to be uncooperative.

Larry: For the dvd, Drew seems to think that it was the OPD or the wrecker/towwer who strapped it into the back seat. And I still think it should be played, if that is possible, to see if, by any chance, a warning may have been left in/on it. But I don't know where it is.
This tip about Jennifer having been seen while she was held at 1414 40th st Orlando shortly after the abduction is really consuming all the energy right now. I am about to call the FBI to make sure they know.
The Orlando office of the FBI is the lead investigation body now for Jennifer's case. Their number is 407-875-9976 and not the number on the banner. The banner number is Tampa, and they kept asking me if I was sure that the FBI is in the lead. Then after a long wait I was told to call the number above.
407-722-2162 is the Orlando 24 hour automated line.
Gotta check the other posts and call the FBI. Thank you for the good work in confirming the FBI!

BillM,
Is this the same 40th street where SWAT teams raided two houses in February 2006?
About the same time a boarding house on Orange Blossom Trail was raided. This was after a 'solid lead.'
There was nothing found regarding Jennifer Kesse as a result of these searches.

JD,
When you aim a barb at me don't shoot from Cowards Castle.
We are all trying to help here. (Well except for ......)
Why not replace the ...... with larryw and be done with it?
You don't like me and boy you better believe the feeling is mutual.
I don't tolerate fools or ideas pulled from the realms of fantasy.
We are not even close to solving this mystery. Get real.

Actually, I was referring to the kid who was arrested because of his guestbook postings. Paranoid much?
Nice to know how you really feel though. Thanks so much for sharing!
"I don't tolerate fools or ideas pulled from the realms of fantasy."
Can I ask what you are referring to? I kind of thought I was being helpful, publishing lots of photos so people could better visualize situations.

JD, you have been a great deal of help here. We all have to remember this is about helping to find Jennifer, nothing else.

Thanks for your kind words Dan.
Larry, I think you might be misunderstanding something I wrote. In your last post, you said, among other things, "We are not even close to solving this mystery. Get real."
Which I guess is a dig at me in an earlier post saying, "So close to solving this mystery."
I didn't mean the JK mystery. If you reread what I wrote, I was referring to the mystery of why there was a DVD player in Jen's back seat. If you recall, I have posted about this topic a few times hoping to coax more info from Drew and the OPD. Now that Drew has very kindly shared more details, I do feel we are almost getting a complete understanding of why the DVD player was there.
Is that what troubled you? Or is there another reason why you think I live in "the realms of fantasy"?
