In response to "what?" on the guest book...
Someone who is proud of their country. If you don't feel the same, perhaps you should pack your bags.

It's OK to be proud of your country, but not to the point of making people feel unwelcome if they are not proud of said country.
What is going on in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza not to mention the Gulf of Mexico should cause even the most zealous patriots to stop and think.
I heard the same shut-up-unless-you-agree-with-my-version- of-patriotism slogan during the "Vietnam conflict." Didn't make us feel any better about the outcome, did it?
And after all we've been through with Jennifer? To think that there are Americans who know exactly what happened to her, (as in the case of Melanie Metheny, and who facilitated 4 years of agony upon her loved ones by turning their back on her, by covering up the truth, in order to protect their own butts in spite of their guilty knowledge, to be blindly proud of our country when this and other atrocities are being committed by Americans against Americans and against peoples of many different lands???
I'm not so sure "Proud" is the best word anymore.
How about deeply saddened, frustrated and fearful of what lies in the future which is closer than it seems in the rear view mirror of history.

In this particular case, where this person is insulting wb and myself, I did feel obligated to say something. Wb was simply offering a sweet gesture and taking a moment to remind us to be safe during what is typically a very busy weekend. I don't see anything wrong with saying "Happy Memorial Day" to remember and honor the men and women who sacrifice so much for us. Someone who spits on such a gesture appears to be ungrateful for that sacrifice. While I do not believe one has to agree with everything happening in his/her country, it is important to feel pride in the place you call home and to respect what others have sacrificed for you. If someone is incapable of those feelings, I do believe they should look elsewhere for a home.
Just my opinion...that is the beauty of freedom of speech. It is not important whether people agree with me or not and this is not a place for political debate...the focus should always be on Jennifer.

Not a problem wb...everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that doesn't mean they need to call someone else names.
Don't let it get to you.
